In October, I will participate in CAF's major annual fundraiser - the San Diego Triathlon Challenge. I am not going to do do a triathlon - I am going to support CAF and the amazing community they support. Here they put the whole foundation's mission to work where able-bodied people and physically challnged swim, run, and bike togetehr while raising money for the equipment challenged atheltes require to participate.
CAF’s mission is clear: give those with the desire to live active, competitive lifestyles every opportunity to compete in the sports they love. They are 4 star rated by Charity Navigator and the grantees usually give more back to their communities through inspiration and attitude than we give to them by providing hand cycles, basketball chairs, running prosthetics, and adaptive ski chairs.
Although we help deserving people, what they do for their communities with incredible attitudes and perseverenace does even more for the abled bodies people around them. By making a donation towards my fundraising goal you will provide individuals with physical challenges with the tools necessary to find success in sports — and in life! These athletes inlcude kids born with birth defects, high schoolers that may have been in an accident or lost a limb to cancer, or many of our returning servicemen and women who were hurt in service to our country. So many stories, all unique.
I'd love a donation of any amount to help CAF or if you are in La Jolla in October, come down to the Cove and check out what its all about. Thanks for considering!
